Maths Goal ------> Term 1

My Goal

To work hard on number strategies for subtraction involving decimal numbers.

How I'm going to achieve it

Go one step at a time. (tenths, hundredths, thousandths)
Tweak the equations so it makes it easier to use with decimals
Knowledge up to spec (eg. skip counting in tenths).

Monster Maths

In math this term we learnt all about fractions, decimals, percentages, subtracting and adding fractions and decimals, ratios, simplifying fractions and decimals and converting fractions into decimals and percentages and vice versa.

What I learnt

I learnt a lot of things this term like how to convert fractions from mixed to improper and vice versa as I didn’t understand it before. I learnt what ratios are. Also how to order fractions on a number line with different denominators. I learnt how equivalent fractions worked. Lastly how to simplify fractions.

What I  enjoyed

I enjoyed converting the fractions and learning about ratios. I like learning all the different decimals and how they work. I liked the way the ratios were like 1 part blue to 3 parts yellow for one of  our math equations.

What I need to improve on

I need to improve on my decimals and adding them as I find decimals confusing at times. Also I need to improve on simplifying my fractions because sometimes the numbers are to big and confusing.

Overall I really enjoyed this part of math with the fractions and learning new things like ratios and decimals. My favorite rotation was when we were with miss Kereru working on new things like ratios and decimals and converting.

Decimals Fractions and Percentages

Today we were learning how to convert fractions into decimals and percentages. I found it challenging but I started to understand it once miss made it simpler. we had t show the numbers on a number line

Math Learning --------- Common denominator

For maths today we were learning how to find the lowest common denominator. We had to find the number that the numbers evenly divided into. So we had to times the denominator by the number the makes the number that the all of the denominator divided evenly divided into.
